Connecting the Educating

Hi! My name is Marilee Butler, and I am a junior at Troy University majoring in multimedia journalism and advertising.

This year I was given the opportunity to work within the Troy University College of Education marketing department.

During my short time here, I have been given a behind the scenes look into just how outstanding the college of education faculty, students and staff are. The department sets goals that push its students to be their best selves, and gives them the tools to do so.

I want to showcase them!

Each professor, administrator, graduate assistant, intern, and first semester student all influence the growth and success of one another.

By highlighting their experiences, advice, and encouragements, this blog can be a place for anyone involved or connected to the college of education to learn from one another.

It can be a place where those who have received honors for their hard work will be recognized, and those that are working towards their goals can be inspired.

Connection is important to success. By connecting students, both on campus, online and at different schools, ideas can be shared.

Through this blog I will share the experiences and stories from individuals within the department of counseling, rehabilitation, and interpreter training, the department of leadership development and professional studies, the department of psychology, and the department of teach education, at each Troy Campus.

New professors joining the college of education, graduate students in the early stages of their careers, and those entering the program, all at different stages of life, can share what the Troy University College of Education has given them, and what they want to give back.

The college of education, just as Troy University as a whole, is a family. It is comprised of individuals who make it wonderful in their own, unique way, and if you follow along I will share how.
